The Queen of Hearts

Part of the Anticipation of Flight collection, this stylized bird stands poised in the moment before it takes off. Its body rises in one long, harmonious curve, and its head lifts as if testing the air. Layered plumage folds along its side, the wing gathered and ready. The warm Tennessee Pink marble gives the form a rosy glow. The integral base of black walnut answers the stone’s tones with its own deep warmth and grounds the bird with an angular counterpoint to its flowing lines.
