Gift Giver: A Solution

The Gift Givers series looks at the different ways people meet life’s challenges. This giver brings a solution: neat, self-contained, ready to hand over. He holds it out with confident hands, a sealed black box that could be any off-the-shelf fix or the latest gadget from the technology revolution. Its smooth, closed surfaces promise everything and reveal nothing. The giver believes in what he offers, but a packaged answer rarely fits the shape of a real problem, and reality may not bear his confidence out.
