Communication

Two stylized figures, a man and a woman, are carved from a single block so closely intertwined that they seem to share one body. An arm reaches across, a limb folds into the other’s embrace, and the forms flow into one another in a continuous loop with no beginning and no end. That unbroken circle is the heart of the piece. It stands for communication that never stops: open, constant, mutual, and so complete that the two appear as halves of one organism. Carved in white Danby marble from Vermont.
