Insomnia: Intrusive Thought

This is the worst hour of a sleepless night. The full moon is up, and one thought has taken hold and won't let go. The eyes stare wide and empty while the mind keeps circling the same track, longing to step off and unable to. The face is round like the moon that brought on the wakefulness, open and blank, held by its pull. Part of the Insomnia suite, it is carved from Tennessee Pink marble reclaimed from the facade of the demolished Australian embassy in Washington, DC.
